Our Team

The crackerjack Convince & Convert team includes:

Jay Baer, CPAE – Founder

Bloomington, IN (Eastern Time Zone)

Jay is a hype-free digital marketing and customer service strategist, speakerNew York Times best-selling author of six books, and a technology investor. He founded Convince & Convert in 2008, and it is his fifth multi-million dollar venture.

Jay’s tequila and suit collections are rivaled only by the number of companies he’s advised on digital marketing since 1994 (700) including Caterpillar, Nike, 3M, Oracle, adidas, and 33 of the Fortune 500. Jay is a global keynote speaker and emcee, and was recently named a Certified Speaking Professional, an accreditation earned by just 9% of the world’s top public speakers.

In 2017, Jay was inducted into the Word-of-Mouth Marketing Hall of Fame by the Word-of-Mouth Marketing Association. And in 2018, he was enshrined in the Professional Speaking Hall of Fame, where there are just 187 living members.

Jay’s Social Pros show was named Best Marketing Podcast in the Content Marketing Awards. He’s also the most retweeted person in the world among digital marketers, and one of the top 3 most influential people online among CMOs and B2B Marketers.

At Convince & Convert, he oversees big picture strategy while educating and informing businesspeople on stage and on the page. He’s also a certified BBQ judge.

Kelly Santina – President

Phoenix, AZ (Arizona Time Zone = Mountain in winter, Pacific in summer)

Kelly comes to Convince & Convert with 20 years of experience in digital marketing, project management and technology integration.

Perhaps a hallmark of her efficiency, Kelly drinks everything with a straw and would be unanimously nominated to test the first coffee IV, as long as she could do it with the handbag of her choice.

Previously, she held senior positions with the top digital advertising agency in Phoenix. She was also the Senior Internet Director and Vice President of Marketing for Thunderbird School of Global Management, the leading international business school in the world.

Though Kelly brings an analytical, data-driven skill set to the Convince & Convert team, we secretly think she’s part psychic and comes from a lineage of fairy godmothers because of the way she anticipates everyone’s needs three steps before they do.

At Convince & Convert, Kelly oversees team efforts, maximizes efficiency and organization, and contributes to overall strategy and development of new products and services.

Kim Corak – Vice President

Louisville, KY (Eastern Time Zone)

Kim has nearly 20 years of experience in digital marketing methodologies and technologies including online advertising, email marketing, search engine marketing (paid and natural/organic), social media, analytics, website strategy, and project management.

Kim is an unstoppable force who can drink up to six pots of coffee a day, still get a good night’s rest and wake up refreshed and with the perfect J. Crew ensemble for the day.

Previously, Kim led the digital marketing for a Southern California municipality focused on travel and tourism as well as served as the head of marketing and PR for an award-winning digital agency.

We love Kim because she can pick up a conversation with anyone, literally, even a turtle on the beach, and get their life story. She hides her OCD well, but we know she has it because we would fall apart without it.

At Convince & Convert, she oversees business development and company growth initiatives.

Zontee Hou – Director of Strategy (pronounced “hoe”)

New York City (Eastern Time Zone)

Not only is Zontee one of LinkedIn’s 16 marketers to follow in 2021 and one of TopRank’s top 25 B2B marketers, she is also your go-to gal for restaurant and activity recommendations in New York City. Seriously, if you’re in town with an animal-loving, vegan aunt or a punk-rock teenager, she can conjure up an itinerary on the fly.

She is the founder of New York-based consultancy Media Volery, a former faculty lecturer at Columbia University, and a popular marketing speaker. With a passion for brand strategy, content marketing, and consumer behavior, Zontee advises organizations ranging from the IMF to Caesars Entertainment to Indiana University.

At Convince & Convert, Zontee oversees the team’s entire consulting portfolio including content marketing, social media marketing, digital marketing, and customer experience advice and counsel.

Mary Nice – Senior Strategist

Orlando, FL (Eastern Time Zone)

Mary Nice is a social media strategy and implementation expert with experience at Disney, Unilever, Kraft Foods, and Kimberly Clark.

She is also rumored to be a baby whisperer, putting parents and babies everywhere at ease—and to sleep.

Prior to consulting, Mary was the Digital Marketing Director for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, where she oversaw strategy, analytics and listening, and community management.

Before that, Mary was an early member of the innovative and successful digital practice at Edelman Public Relations, the world’s largest PR firm. While there, Mary’s work spanned the CPG, tourism, and healthcare sectors.

We haven’t clocked it yet, but we think Mary’s prep time to jump on a plane is under two hours flat if there’s something interesting on the other side.

Mary spends much of her passion-project time consulting with Auburn University, her alma mater, as the president of the advisory committee for the public relations program as well as an active member on the Auburn Athletics Public Relations Council.

Daniel Lemin – Senior Strategist & Customer Experience Advisor

Los Angeles, CA (Pacific Time Zone)

Daniel is a senior advisor and strategist with a deep history in customer experience, corporate and brand online reputation, employee advocacy and marketing innovation.

His career started as an early member of Google’s global communications team, leading the launch of products in North America, EMEA, and Asia Pacific. His sense of wanderlust was sparked by those early business trips and has led to him meandering through 50 countries (and counting). He later established the digital practice at Citizen Relations and led corporate digital strategy for the western region at Edelman. He has worked with many of the world’s top organizations including PwC, Shell, P&G, McKinsey, General Motors, Petco, Hilton Hotels, and the Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

Word-of-mouth marketing is Daniel’s forte so much that he wrote two books on the topic – as co-author of Talk Triggers with Jay Baer, and Manipurated. Hes an accomplished keynote speaker, workshop leader and teacher.

He’s a native Ohioan who now resides in sunny Los Angeles. His taste in music is eclectic (Harry Styles, Roberta Flack, Linkin Park and Gershwin could round out a single day’s playlist), and so is his taste in food. As much as he loves being on the road, he also enjoys the simple joys of happy hour at home with an ice cold martini (gin, naturally) and his dog by the fireplace.

Anthony Helmstetter – Head of Analysis and Insights

Phoenix, AZ (Arizona Time Zone = Mountain in winter, Pacific in summer) & Playas del Coco, Costa Rica (UTC/GMT -6 hours)

Anthony has more than 25 years of integrated advertising and digital marketing experience. His expertise spans across 20 disciplines including award-winning email nurture programs, lead-generation, customer retention, advanced analytics and optimization, and marketing automation, as well as his personal faves: Tesla and solar power.

Professionally, Anthony is a published author, the former VP & Partner of Advanced Client Strategies for Off Madison Ave, and has overseen the deployment of more than 100 websites before he stopped counting. His notable client successes include Georgia-Pacific, CVS Pharmacies, University of Phoenix, Chipotle Mexican Grill, LifeLock, and the Arizona Office of Tourism.

Whether or not you believe the rumor that Anthony is a descendant of Jacques Cousteau, the Grand Canyon-sized fish tank in his home office coupled with his penchant for scuba diving and all things under the sea will give you something to think about.

At Convince & Convert, Anthony supports the social media and content audit team with adjacent and complementary disciplines. He also provides agencies and retainer clients with real-time advice and counsel.

Anna Hrach – Senior Strategist

Phoenix, AZ (Arizona Time Zone = Mountain in winter, Pacific in summer)

Anna is a content expert who tackles clients’ toughest marketing problems with the tenacity and fearlessness of a honey badger. Not like a mean one, though. More like the nice, non-bitey kind.

For more than a decade, she’s developed super-smart content strategies for companies ranging from up-and-coming startups to Fortune 500s. Her experience spans a range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, beauty, healthcare, hospitality, insurance, consumer packaged goods, banking, and education. She’s also helped build content departments at three different agencies.

When she’s not dotting the i’s and crossing her t’s, you’ll find Anna living up to the old “work hard, play hard” adage. Sometimes, that means throwing some seriously crazy weights around at the gym, while crushing her latest lifting PRs. Other times, that means sneaking away for the occasional ditch day at Disneyland, but we don’t judge. Contrary to what some might think, she also knows how to unwind, too. There’s nothing she loves more than a relaxing weekend full of video games, happy hours with friends, hanging out with her husband and couch time with her dog and cat.

Jenny Magic – Strategist

Jenny Magic - Speaker512.994.5762
Austin, TX (Central Time Zone)

Jenny has spent almost two decades in digital marketing and over 30 years as the “top man” of the three-high family waterski pyramids. One definitely requires more agility, but she’s not telling. Jenny is a content marketing strategist and speaker who has advised clients like Prudential, Acxiom, and Alcon, along with hundreds of startup and growth companies.

Jenny’s middle name should be “Hack” because she’s always looking for a way to take two minutes off a commute, find the best deal, cook dinner faster, avoid the common cold, whatever. If you have a problem, she has a tip, a book, an expert, and a better way. When she’s bored she goes looking for things to improve, so we make sure to keep her busy!

She’s most proud of her volunteer work; she currently serves as a mentor and president-elect of the Women Communicators of Austin and received the 2014 WCA Mentor of the Year Award. She has served as a SXSW mentor and organizes the 1,200 member Austin Content Meetup. An avid reader, fierce game night competitor, and passionate yogi, Jenny lives in Austin with her husband, architect Scott Magic (who she promises she DID NOT marry just for his awesome last name), and their two LEGO-obsessed sons, one of whom she accidentally named “Magician”.

Corynn Myers – Strategist

corynn@convinceandconvert.comCorynn Myers at Convince & ConvertCanton, MI (Eastern Time Zone)

Corynn loves connecting the dots across multi-channel marketing strategies and finding unique ways to achieve goals. She’s best known for taking complicated communication issues and simplifying them into organized plans and actions.

Previously, Corynn led marketing and communications strategy at the University of Michigan, where she built an in-house digital marketing team and oversaw several major digital initiatives. She also managed campaigns spanning various industries, including automotive, residential, healthcare, higher education, and non-profit.

Voted Funniest Person of 2020 by her husband, Corynn enjoys mixing laughter and work whenever possible. She also has a thing for office supplies and takes handwritten notes. #OkayMillennial

When she’s not working, Corynn enjoys browsing Antique shops with her husband and going on adventures with her two young children.

Sunny Hunt – Strategist

512.270.1411Sunny Hunt at Convince & Convert
Austin, TX (Central Time Zone)

Sunny is a 20-year digital marketing veteran who survived the first dot-com boom working in e-commerce, without moving to Silicon Valley.

She loves setting up and solving the customer puzzle; identifying best-fit customers, understanding their anxieties and objections, and designing and optimizing online experiences that delight and convert.

She’s the founder of Hunt Interaction, a growth marketing consultancy in Austin, Texas, where she works primarily with SaaS and professional services companies. She’s known for centering and advocating for the needs of customers in every conversation.

Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, Sunny learned and sharpened her home remodeling skills, helping replace the drywall in her bedroom at the age of 16. Since then, she’s gutted and restored several homes and hopes to never use these skills again.

Lauren Teague – Content & Analytics

Portland, OR (Pacific Time Zone)

Lauren, who once was a single-digit handicap in golf, is a digital strategist with extensive social experience. She has worked with a range of media startups, established non-profits, professional sports leagues (over six years with the PGA Tour), teams (Portland Trail Blazers), and athletes (Jason Day, Rickie Fowler, Ian Poulter, Jimmy Walker, Marc Leishman, and Jason Dufner to name a few) and brands (TaylorMade Golf, Cabela’s, Grand Ole Opry)

When we can’t find Lauren in the office, we look on the golf course first. Her toddler has a better handicap than all of us at C&C.

She produces an annual sports digital and social media event (Sports PR Summit), leads social media workshops, and speaks nationwide for associations, conferences, and corporate groups.

Lauren loves all things sports and outdoors, and spends her free time exploring Oregon with her family. She is also the emoji queen. If you need recommendations for the best emoji to use, she knows it.

Michelle Saunders – Director of Content

Nashville (Central Time Zone)

Michelle has more than 10 years of experience in digital marketing, content creation and social media. Her talents have facilitated the marketing efforts of numerous healthcare and SaaS companies, and she has worked with technology brands, like Fujitsu, EPSON and Kofax.

She doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty – figuratively and literally. Along with her fearlessness to try the innovative and new like a Marketing MacGyver, she is a wannabe homesteader.

Already a Tennessee-raised gal, Michelle, her husband and two young boys moved out into the country to try their hand at a homegrown farm with livestock, garden, and DIY projects.

When Michelle isn’t busy pumping out delicious content for us and those of our amazing clients, she…. can’t be found! Her off-the-grid cabin allows her family to disconnect and enjoy time fishing and kayaking. But, aside from being the outdoorsy type, her love of the arts never ceases and she has been known to make an appearance in local theatre when she needs a creative boost.

Gini Roberts – Director of Media and Sponsorships

Phoenix, AZ (Arizona Time Zone = Mountain in winter, Pacific in summer)

Gini has more than 15 years of marketing experience, helping brands attract new business and deepen existing customer relationships. A huge fan of variety, Gini’s marketing know-how spans many disciplines including events, web development, paid media, email marketing, content creation and project management.

She combines a love of modern marketing techniques with an affinity for all things 1980s. It is not uncommon to find her blasting a new wave hit or hair band power ballad for a quick pick-me-up (her secret to success when earning her MBA in global management).

She has several years of experience in the higher education industry, including leading digital marketing initiatives at one of the world’s top-ranked colleges of education, ASU’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College.

At Convince & Convert, Gini serves as our go-to content concierge for clients, providing strategic consultation to address their needs and ensuring media projects are delivered beyond expectations.

You never know where you may find Gini between projects. Most recently she’s been spotted traveling to music festivals, playing hide and seek with her kids, reading Great Expectations or entertaining friends with late night renditions of bad karaoke.

Tom Brecke – Business Development Manager

Portland, OR (Pacific Time Zone)

Tom comes to Convince & Convert following 20 years in the media & publishing industries.

Starting as an award-winning reporter in Phoenix, AZ, he eventually turned to the “dark side” of advertising sales, leading him to launch three newspapers in underserved markets in Arizona.

As the founding publisher, he brought business and community news to the cities of Flagstaff, Sedona, Prescott and South Phoenix. Jay Baer, President of C&C and his wife Alyson even wrote a monthly food column for one.

Trading desert heat for Pacific Northwest rain, Tom now calls Portland, OR home and enjoys surfing, skiing and baking sourdough bread (he owned a bakery once, too).

Leanna Pham – Marketing Operations & Social Media Manager

New York City (Eastern Time Zone)

As an All-Star Alumni from the City College of New York’s MCA Program, Leanna does not fall short on what she brings to the table. Her drive and productivity enabled her to kick start her career and achieve so many things at a young age.

With her expertise and experience as a brand strategist, influencer and media coordinator, it earned Leanna opportunities to work with a range of notable clients like Netflix, FOX Sports, NASCAR, and P&G. She strives for opportunities that will improve and enhance her skill set and there isn’t a task she isn’t willing to sit down and learn. Leanna’s background in leadership showcases her work ethic and integrity in all that she’s passionate about. As a former volleyball player, she knows all about the value of teamwork and communication and its effectiveness in marketing.

When Leanna’s not at work, she’s either traveling or appreciating the aesthetic of her latest coffee creation. Her best creative flow is when she’s in her most comfortable attire: a hoodie with leggings and her dog, Kira, by her side.

At Convince & Convert, Leanna oversees coordinating, scheduling, and developing our social platforms, podcasts, client relationships, and overall brand materials for our company and clients.

Christin Kardos – 1974-2021

Our long-time Community Manager Christin “Tink” Kardos passed away unexpectedly in early 2021. A pioneering social media community builder, Tink never met a stranger, online or offline.

A selfless and sassy optimist, she was instrumental in making our organization what it is today. She was one-of-a-kind, and we miss her dearly.
